about
We had a tragedy in our family when my nephew died at an early age.
Trying to wrap my head around what it must be like for my sister-in-law to lose her only child (with whom she was very close), I wrote this song.
I offer it here humbly to anyone who has experienced the grief of losing a loved one. My friend Michael Aharon added the beautiful orchestration.
lyrics
You can't believe he's gone away
The pain is more than anyone should have to bear
But you'll get through another night
Remembering the best of who he really was
So dream 'til you wake
Breathe when you cry
Send love until your tears run dry
Then carry on
He'd want you to remember
that he loves you, too
But how the hell do you go on
When the person that you loved the best is really gone?
He isn't very far away
He's in the heart of everyone he ever knew
So dream 'til you wake
Breathe when you cry
Send love until your tears run dry
Then carry on
He'd want you to remember
that he loves you, too
Dream 'til qw wake
Breathe when qw cry
Send love until our tears run dry
Then carry on
He'd want us to remember
that he loves us, too
